The MNIT MDA and BAH teams support technology critical to ensuring food supply integrity and safety, livestock health, and supporting a vibrant agricultural economy for Minnesota. MNIT Under the executive leadership of the MNIT Deputy Chief Business Technology Officer (CBTO), the Salesforce Systems Supervisor provides leadership and oversight of high-level functions for the Minnesota IT (MNIT) Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) Salesforce platform, ensuring its scalability, stability, and alignment with MNIT and agency business needs. This responsibility includes a substantial number of varied and complex functions that include building out the technology-side of MDA Salesforce as a service, including staffing, development/security/operations pipelines, agile processes, and support and integrations with legacy systems structures that enable delivery of secure, reliable, and innovative Salesforce solutions. The position operates within an Agile product team framework. The Salesforce Systems Supervisor partners with the MDA business team and Salesforce Product Owner to balance business priorities with technical delivery. The supervisor ensures agile delivery practices are followed, supporting iterative development, continuous improvement, and alignment with the priorities and investment decisions of the MDA/MNIT Governance Team. **This position requires an employee to be onsite at 625 Robert St. N., St. Paul, MN, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location.** Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis. Experience must include: + Experience supervising technical staff, including hiring, work assignment, performance evaluation, discipline, and day-to-day personnel management in accordance with policies and labor agreements. + Experience providing technical leadership for Salesforce or comparable enterprise application platforms, including oversight of development, configuration, integration, and system enhancements. + Experience with agile delivery practices, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and accountability for timely and high-quality delivery of functionality. + Experience in IT planning, strategy, and decision-making, including feasibility analysis, cost/benefit evaluation, roadmap development, and alignment of technical work with governance priorities and business needs. + Experience overseeing DevOps or DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, environment management, quality assurance, and compliance with security and accessibility standards. + Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively to foster mutual understanding, and guide teams through change. + Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving, complemented by formal or informal leadership and people engagement skills to deliver positive user experiences and high-performing results. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience supervising or leading Salesforce or IT teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and fostering inclusive, collaborative work environments. + Hands-on experience with Salesforce configuration, customization, integrations, and ongoing platform enhancements, including change and release management. + Experience managing Salesforce platform enhancements using Agile/Scrum methodologies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and iterative delivery. + Experience with Salesforce DevOps and release management tools (e.g., Gearset, Flosum, Copado, Blue Canvas), including CI/CD pipeline setup and version control using GitHub. + Experience integrating Salesforce with third-party tools or platforms such as MuleSoft, Microsoft Azure, or SDOCs. + Knowledge of Salesforce security architecture, including user access controls, permission sets, role hierarchy, and data-sharing models. + Knowledge of public-sector or enterprise IT environments, including governance processes, security standards, and collaboration with business partners or product owners. **Additional Requirements** It is the policy of Minnesota IT Services that a successful candidate must pass all legally required checks prior to employment which may consist of the following: + SEMA4 Records Check (applies to current and past state employees only) + Criminal History Check + Reference Check + Education Verification + CJIS Background Check + Other legally required checks **Minnesota IT Services does not participate in E-Verify.
