CGI, a Platinum Salesforce Implementation Partner, is seeking a Salesforce Solution (Application) Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-impact Salesforce solutions for our public sector clients. This role blends deep technical expertise with strong consulting and leadership skills. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, own solution architecture from discovery through delivery, and guide teams toward successful outcomes.
This position is located in our Austin, Texas office, however a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Architecture & Solution Design
. Own end-to-end Salesforce solution architecture from discovery through implementation and post-go-live support
. Translate complex business needs into scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions
. Define architectural tradeoffs, document key decisions, and manage technical risk and debt
. Ensure solutions align with CGI architectural standards, Salesforce best practices, and public sector requirements
Discovery & Advisory Leadership
. Lead client discovery sessions and roadmap discussions to define current-state challenges and future-state vision
. Act as a trusted advisor—challenging assumptions and guiding clients toward solutions that deliver real business outcomes
. Facilitate discussions with both business and technical stakeholders to extract critical requirements and align on solution direction
Delivery & Team Leadership
. Serve as design authority throughout delivery, guiding development teams through complex implementation challenges
. Partner closely with Salesforce developers to ensure solutions meet quality, performance, security, and timeline expectations
. Provide hands-on support, including configuration or development, when needed to unblock teams or accelerate delivery
. Mentor and coach Salesforce team members, fostering technical excellence and professional growth
Governance, Standards & Non-Functional Requirements
. Define and validate non-functional requirements including security, performance, accessibility (508/WCAG), scalability, and compliance
. Establish and enforce Salesforce architectural standards, reusable patterns, and design governance
. Ensure solutions meet public sector expectations for data privacy, auditability, and reliability
Integration & Enterprise Architecture
. Design Salesforce solutions within broader enterprise ecosystems
. Define integration strategies, data ownership, and API patterns across systems of record and engagement
. Collaborate with enterprise architects, integration teams, and external partners as needed
Backlog & Documentation
. Shape and groom Salesforce product backlogs, ensuring clarity and alignment with solution design
. Provide guidance on effective user story writing and acceptance criteria
. Create and maintain high-quality technical design documentation
. Illustrate designs using tools such as Visio, Lucid, and Mural
Business Development & Practice Growth
. Support proposal and business development efforts by contributing solution designs, estimates, scope input, and project plans
. Partner with sales, clients, and CGI practice leaders to prescribe complete, forward-looking solutions
. Contribute to CGI's Salesforce practice through thought leadership, reusable assets, and best practices
. Stay current on Salesforce releases, features, and emerging technologies
. 5–8 years of hands-on Salesforce experience in a Solution Architect or similar role
. Deep expertise in Salesforce configuration and customization, including governor limits, licensing, and platform constraints
. Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture and multi-org deployment strategies
. Experience with Salesforce front-end and back-end development, including: Lightning Web Components (LWC) Aura Framework Visualforce Apex REST and SOAP web services
. Proven experience writing Apex code, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
. Solid understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and SOQL
. Experience designing Salesforce integrations using standard patterns (iPaaS or custom)
. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
. Proven ability to lead, coach, and influence teams of Salesforce professionals
. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and recommend improvements
. Salesforce Application Architect and/or System Architect certification (or actively pursuing certification)
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
. Experience with Salesforce data migrations
. OmniStudio experience
. Salesforce Public Sector Solutions experience
. Experience developing applications for the Salesforce AppExchange
. Experience working in state or local government environments, particularly within the Texas public sector (e.g., Texas state agencies, higher education institutions, counties, or municipalities)
. Familiarity with Texas-specific public sector processes, compliance requirements, or regulatory environments
. Experience developing public sector RFP responses / client proposals
Other Information:
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $127,500.00 - $276,200.00.
