**Role Overview:**
We are seeking a Salesforce Integration Architect who believes that CRM is only as powerful as the data it connects to. In this role, you will design the "connective tissue" of our global CX practice.
As a **Salesforce Integration Architect,** you will play a critical role in designing and implementing best-in-class, scalable integration solutions across the Salesforce ecosystem and enterprise backend systems at Trane Technologies. You will lead the integration strategy using Apigee as an API management gateway and leverage middleware solutions to simplify complex, multi-system connectivity, supporting our customer experience and business transformation initiatives.
**Key Competencies**
+ Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
+ Excellent communication skills—able to explain complex integration strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
+ Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, with the ability to proactively identify issues, trends, and solutions.
+ Experience designing and developing integration solutions using API gateways (Apigee) and middleware platforms.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and balance multiple deliverables.
+ Excellent relationship-building and mentorship skills across multidisciplinary teams.
+ Robust documentation and visualization skills (e.g., integration diagrams with Visio, Lucid chart, etc.).
+ Pro-active, can-do attitude with strong problem-solving abilities.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Integration Architecture & Strategy**
+ Architect and mature the global Salesforce integration landscape in line with Trane Technologies’ target state.
+ Define and implement the “Apigee-First” integration strategy, positioning Apigee as the mandatory layer for all inbound/outbound Salesforce data and API connectivity.
+ Design reusable API proxies, standard flows, security models (OAuth 2.0), and enforce governance using Apigee.
+ Serve as the primary connection point between Salesforce, ERPs, legacy databases, third-party SaaS, and cloud infrastructure via an enterprise middleware layer.
**Middleware & Orchestration**
+ Utilize Oracle Fusion Middleware (SOA/OSB) for complex, multi-system orchestration, legacy modernization, and protocol transformation (REST, SOAP, XML, JSON).
+ Decouple Salesforce from backend complexity by exposing only simple, business-oriented APIs.
**Salesforce Integration Patterns**
+ Implement robust integration solutions leveraging Salesforce Platform Events, External Services, Named Credentials, and Salesforce Connect.
+ Support real-time, event-driven architectures and asynchronous data flows for optimal Salesforce system performance.
+ Architect and maintain external API integrations using Open API specifications.
**Security, Governance & Best Practices**
+ Enforce security best practices, traffic management, and threat protection in the Apigee gateway.
+ Own data standards, API lifecycle management, and the adoption of integration best practices across projects.
+ Proactively communicate risks and solution design considerations to stakeholders.
**DevOps & Continuous Improvement**
+ Build and maintain cross-platform CI/CD pipelines synchronizing Salesforce and Apigee middleware deployments.
+ Implement automated contract and integration testing using tools such as Postman or Apickli.
+ Mentor and support project/development teams in adopting integration best practices and standards.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
+ Minimum 8 years of IT experience, with 13+ years in integration architecture and enterprise system integration.
+ Hands-on expertise with Apigee API Gateway, including architecture, security, API lifecycle management, and deployment.
+ Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware, SOA/OSB, enterprise integration patterns, and legacy system modernization.
+ Strong knowledge of Salesforce technologies (Apex, Platform Events, External Services, Named Credentials, Salesforce Connect, etc.).
+ Proficiency in REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, AsyncAPI protocols and relevant tools.
+ Experience in SaaS integrations, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) preferred.
+ Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD practices, and integration testing methodologies.
+ Familiarity with DevOps and version-controlled deployment practices for both Salesforce and middleware.
**What We Offer**
+ Competitive salary and benefits package.
+ Opportunities for professional growth, development, and recognition.
+ A collaborative and inclusive environment working on cutting-edge solutions.
+ The chance to make a real impact in driving digital transformation and climate innovation.
