Sales Strategy & Planning Manager

In this pivotal role, you will accelerate business growth by identifying high-impact strategic opportunities and managing the lifecycle of key partnerships. You will lead a dynamic portfolio of initiatives designed to optimize sales operations, driving organizational velocity and operational excellence. Serving as a primary change agent, you will facilitate the transition from an internal support function to a high-performance business line. Additionally, you will architect robust governance and reporting frameworks to ensure data-driven execution and accountability against our long-term strategic plan The ideal candidate for this role has strong analytical skills, excellent time-management and organizational habits, experience navigating and influencing a cross-functional, matrix organization, and the ability to clearly communicate and present information to senior stakeholders. We're looking for someone who can zoom out to set a vision and solve problems from 30,000 feet, as well as zoom in to dive deep into the details! This role reports to the Head of Strategy and Planning for Uber AI Solutions. **What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points** ---- What the Candidate Will Do ---- 1. Act as a strategic partner and advisor to the Global Head of Sales- elevating insights, synthesizing data and shaping decisions across initiatives 2. Independently structure ambiguous problems, drive clarity and deliver solutions 3. Orchestrate the global operating rhythm (business reviews, financial plans) to ensure executive alignment and accountability against OKRs. 4. Collaborate closely with other functional teams and leaders across Uber, enabling you to influence without authority and drive alignment on critical priorities 5. Drive cross-functional consensus across Product, Marketing, and Finance to unblock revenue-generating initiatives 6. Identify the biggest operational gaps, inefficiencies, and risks using our user, platform and budget insights/data, customer feedback and deliver solutions that incorporate a strong understanding of existing problems and effective solutions 7. Build, maintain, and develop a strong communication cadence, strengthening regional and global understanding of key projects, programs, planning processes and strategies ---- Basic Qualifications ---- 1. Six or more years of experience in consulting, strategy, business intelligence, or closely related analytical roles. 2. Demonstrated strength in project management and operating cadence, including governance models, planning rhythms, and cross functional execution. 3. Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, with proficiency across tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Salesforce, dashboards, and executive level presentations. 4. Highly self directed and resourceful, with the ability to independently source data, investigate open questions, and build clarity in environments where information is incomplete or fragmented. 5. High level of grit and resilience, with a willingness to work hands on, push through obstacles, and stay focused under pressure. 6. Comfort operating in ambiguity, with the ability to structure unformed problems into clear frameworks, priorities, and actionable plans. 7. Extensive experience managing complex stakeholder networks across multiple time zones, maintaining momentum, alignment, and execution speed in global operating environments. 8. Experience in fast growing organizations, with comfort navigating non standard working hours and supporting globally distributed teams. 9. Strong technical acumen across artificial intelligence, machine learning, SaaS platforms, or cloud infrastructure, with the ability to engage credibly with technical, product, and commercial partners. ---- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. MBA or advanced degree in business, analytics, economics, or a related quantitative discipline. 2. Demonstrated success operating in high velocity technology environments as a core strategic partner to Sales Leadership, with deep fluency in the unit economics of cloud and AI infrastructure and the ability to convert complex market dynamics into clear, actionable growth strategies. 3. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior executives and collaborating effectively across product, finance, operations, and globally distributed teams. 4. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including executive level decks and narrative documents, paired with strong emotional intelligence and sound judgment. 5. Proven ability to influence, align, and motivate partners across diverse functions through credibility, relationships, and clear strategic framing. 6. Familiarity with the Uber ecosystem, or demonstrated comfort navigating large scale, fast paced, highly matrixed global organizations. 7. Strong organizational discipline, with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously while maintaining focus on the highest impact priorities. 8. Clear bias toward action, with a track record of driving initiatives from strategy through execution and anticipating what is needed next. 9. High attention to detail combined with a continuous improvement mindset, consistently identifying opportunities to refine, optimize, and improve outcomes For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$162,000 per year - USD$180,000 per year. For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$146,000 per year - USD$162,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
