Sales Manager - Power Distribution & Transmission
OVERVIEW Merrick is seeking a Sales Manager for Power Distribution & Transmission focused on the power industry. This role will steer our capture plan in the power market, along with technical oversight on transmission engineering projects. The preferred candidate is a current electric transmission system engineer interested in a shift to sales and marketing of those engineering services. Role will include capturing new clients for Merrick’s existing transmission line mapping, GIS database management, and corridor routing services as well as Merrick’s existing power distribution design and engineering services. This individual must have recent experience of performing transmission system engineering and preferably electric distribution engineering experience as well. Using this knowledge, this individual will help Merrick identify target clients for transmission and distribution engineering projects and provide technical guidance on work execution. Typical salary range for this position is $125,400.00 - $162,300.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. WHAT YOU'LL DO Lead sales and capture efforts for all power work including transmission line mapping, design and engineering and distribution design and engineering. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform work for new clients or new work for existing clients. Work closely with Merrick’s Atlanta office where the transmission line mapping team sits. Learn the team, clients and capabilities and capture new work with existing clients for existing services. Work closely with Merrick’s San Antonio office where the distribution design and engineering team sits. Learn the team, clients, and capabilities and capture new work with existing clients for existing services. Act as technical lead for initial transmission line engineering projects, performing the work and training the team on the process. Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments. Apply general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields in support of participation on multi-disciplinary teams. Act independently to identify and attend conferences and industry events that facilitate Merrick’s growth in the Power industry. Travel will fluctuate but must be willing and able to travel approximately 25-50% of the time. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in either Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering with Electrical Emphasis Engineering from an accredited program Minimum 8 years of electric transmission system experience Transmission line design and engineering within the last 12 months PE License in Georgia and Texas (can be obtained after hire) PLS-CADD design and clearance assessment experience Experience with AutoCAD based drawing generation Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) Candidates must reside within 150 miles of Atlanta, GA or San Antonio, TX Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under Merrick’s insurance carrier Must be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship.
