What you’ll do
As a First Line Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Account Executives and promoting SAP’s portfolio across a broad set of industries. You will play a pivotal role in driving revenue performance, including accurate forecasting, pipeline discipline, and execution of demand‑generation strategies to ensure sustainable growth and predictable business outcomes.
You will lead and coach a high‑performing sales team, fostering strategic customer engagement and building trusted relationships with SAP’s top enterprise customers, prospects, partners, and internal stakeholders. Your leadership will directly impact revenue attainment, customer success, and long‑term market expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of senior sales professionals.
- Promote a collaborative, high‑performance culture with strong focus on execution excellence.
- Drive skill development and strategic planning to maximize team impact.
Strategic Engagement:
- Develop and execute strategic account and territory plans aligned to both short‑term priorities and long‑term business objectives.
- Understand customer needs, challenges, and strategic directions; align SAP’s solutions to deliver measurable value.
New Business & New Logo Acquisition:
- Lead the team to identify, target, and win new customers (new logos).
- Drive proactive prospecting and expansion activities to build a healthy pipeline of net‑new opportunities.
- Ensure the team executes the SAP corporate motion consistently in all sales cycles.
Demand Generation Collaboration:
- Work closely with Demand Generation teams to plan and execute programs that accelerate pipeline creation.
- Ensure strong follow‑up, lead conversion, and integrated campaign alignment across teams.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with customers and prospects.
- Act as a trusted advisor to help shape customer strategy and accelerate cloud adoption.
Opportunity Identification:
- Identify new opportunities where SAP’s solutions address business needs.
- Guide the team in effective value positioning, differentiation, and solution mapping.
Customer Success:
- Ensure customers adopt SAP solutions and realize expected outcomes.
- Promote long‑term satisfaction, retention, and value expansion.
Business Continuity and Expansion:
- Oversee continuity of existing business while expanding into additional areas through upsell and cross‑sell engagements.
- Support transition from on‑premise to SAP’s Private and Public Cloud portfolios where relevant.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Partner with SAP ecosystem stakeholders, including partners, presales, services, solution advisors, and executives.
- Ensure alignment and seamless customer experience across all interactions.
Expectations and Tasks
- Manage and coach a high‑caliber sales team.
- Define vision and strategy to generate competitive advantage and new revenue streams.
- Understand SAP processes, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Ensure disciplined solution selling with clear business cases and ROI.
- Drive the team toward market penetration, strong pipeline health, and customer satisfaction.
- Remove obstacles, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure operational excellence.
- Support growth and development of the sales team, including performance management.
What you’ll bring
- 15+ years in sales of complex business software/IT solutions.
- Proven track record in enterprise sales and new business development.
- Experience in team‑selling environments and multi‑stakeholder engagements.
- Success in long and complex sales cycles, including contract negotiations.
Education and Skills
- Strong knowledge of consultative selling methodologies.
- Ability to manage risk and navigate complex political and commercial environments.
- Fluent in English.
