Job Description
The Automotive Sales Manager is an on-the-floor leader who drives volume, gross, and profitability by desking and structuring deals, actively closing customers, and building a dominant, accountable sales team. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on deal-making and coaching, ensuring daily execution, strong CSI, and a competitive, winning culture.
Responsibilities
Desk, structure, and approve deals to maximize volume, front-end gross, and overall profitability.Perform effective TOs (turnovers) and personally close deals when needed.Collaborate with F&I to improve product penetration and optimize deal structure (rate, terms, advances).Guide appraisal strategy with Used Car leadership; align price-to-market and reconditioning timelines to support sales velocity.Set targets for appointments, shows, write-ups, demos, and closes; run morning huddles, mid-day standups, and end-of-day recaps.Manage CRM/BDC workflow: lead assignment, response times, follow-up cadence, and pipeline hygiene across internet, phone, and showroom traffic.Oversee pricing strategy and merchandising (Vauto, e-commerce platforms, photos/descriptions) to keep inventory moving.Monitor and improve sales process adherence (road-to-the-sale, pencils, menu presentations, trade process, test-drives).Maintain CSI standards by addressing customer concerns quickly and coaching for experience excellence.Recruit, hire, and onboard high-caliber sales consultants who thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment.Deliver structured training (product, process, objection handling, digital retailing) with side-by-sides, role plays, and live deal coaching.Set clear expectations, provide frequent feedback, and hold the team accountable to activity and results.Partner with Service/Parts to support accessory sales and service-to-sales handoffs.Work with Marketing/BDC on campaign strategy, lead quality, and attribution.Coordinate with Accounting and Title/DMV to ensure clean, accurate paperwork and timely funding.Essential Skills

Hands-on expertise with common dealership systems (e.g., DealerTrack, Reynolds/CDK, eLeads/VinSolutions, Vauto).Working knowledge of F&I menus, lender programs, and funding requirements.Strong coaching and talent development track record; prior experience building teams.Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if test-drives or customer shuttling are expected).Work Environment
This is a full-time, onsite position with evening and weekend coverage aligned to dealership sales hours. The work environment is fast-paced and competitive, requiring a high level of energy and commitment. The base salary for this position is $52,000 annually, and monthly bonuses will be given as a percentage of dealership profit. Expected total compensation for this role is $110,000 - $120,000 anually.
