Sales Engineer
Job Title: Sales EngineerJob Description

The position is ideal for someone with a solid background in fluid power systems and hydraulic components, particularly in custom cylinder applications, design, and manufacturing. The primary focus of this role is maintaining and supporting existing accounts, with an active role in identifying and developing new business opportunities.

ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support to customers and internal teams regarding custom hydraulic cylinder applications.Assist the sales department in preparing accurate and competitive quotes for custom-designed hydraulic cylinders tailored to customer-specific applications.Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate pricing and feasibility of manufacturing.Proactively research and identify potential customers and market segments that align with the company’s capabilities and product offerings.Follow up on sales leads and inquiries with a technical, solutions-based approach.Build new customer relationships through calls, emails, and virtual/in-person meetings.Work with the Quality Assurance department to evaluate and process customer returns (RGA’s), identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions where necessary.Communicate with customers to resolve technical issues related to returned products.Collaborate closely with the engineering team and shop floor personnel to ensure production requirements meet customer expectations and design parameters.Provide internal engineering assistance, including 2D/3D documentation, design modifications, and technical validation of components.Maintain thorough and accurate records of customer communications, quote status, product modifications, and engineering support.Assist in preparing technical documentation and product literature as needed for internal and customer use.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of experience in inside sales, technical sales, or applications engineering within the fluid power or hydraulics industry.Minimum 2 years of experience and understanding of hydraulic systems, including pressure and tonnage calculations, cylinder sizing, and pump performance.Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and hydraulic schematics.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience around ERP systems is a plus.Work Environment

Initially, the role involves maintaining current accounts, transitioning to prospecting for new business opportunities. The work environment fosters collaboration with engineering and shop floor personnel to meet customer expectations.

This is a Permanent position based out of New Berlin, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
