Our team specializes in business intelligence for enterprise, by finding and delivering critical information being released from local government organizations across North America. Through unique data and machine learning, Ontopical helps our customers identify potential opportunities and issues, so they can make more informed business decisions and win more government contracts. The ideal candidate will cultivate relationships with prospects in order to catalyze business development success. This individual will schedule meetings with clients in order to understand their needs. They will also work closely with sales and marketing teams to uncover new leads.

About the job

As a Sales Development Representative specifically working for Ontopical by SOVRA, your objective is to identify and qualify new sales opportunities for the team. You are the window into Ontopical, the first person new customers will see. SDR’s execute prospecting strategies to meet established performance criteria and you may be assigned a specific territory, industry sector, or enterprise size. All SDR’s shall maintain account records and reporting utilizing tools as outlined in the Ontopical Sales Playbook.

What will your main responsibilities look like?

In this role, you will be led to:                                              

Execute Ontopical’s core values every day. Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual performance targets.Identify new prospects in close collaboration with your Account Executive.Be creative and perform explorative outreach to customers (calls, emails, LinkedIn, SMS).Personalize communications to the extent possible to maximize your probability of making new connections.Exhibit strong, clear communication skills, both verbal and written.Outbound calls to qualify leads and book appointments for Account Executives.Track all activities using Ontopical’s sales tools.Connect with prospects and help them understand immediate value from Ontopical.Qualify prospects, book meetings and demos for our Account Executives.Always look for opportunities to improve your performance, customer outcomes and Ontopical.Participate in daily huddles and chats to celebrate wins and share best practices.What elements of your professional background will be necessary and useful in this role?Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.2+ years’ of experience in related role, preferred.Strong communication and time management skills.Exemplify our values of Trust, Own, Solve, Act, and Client.Possess 2+ years of real-world business development experience.Demonstrate polished communication, objection handling, and negotiation skills.You are a winner vs. a whiner.
