Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Technician to ensure the highest standards of safety are maintained at our solar project site. This role involves conducting orientations, job safety analyses (JSAs), safety meetings, and overseeing both internal and subcontractor safety processes.

ResponsibilitiesConduct safety orientations for new employees and subcontractors.Perform job safety analyses (JSAs) to identify potential hazards.Lead and organize safety meetings to discuss safety protocols.Manage safety procedures for internal staff and subcontractors.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.Promote a culture of safety awareness and preventative measures.Essential SkillsExpertise in solar and construction safety.Proficiency with OSHA regulations, including OSHA 30, OSHA 500, and OSHA 510.Strong understanding of health and safety protocols.Experience in safety training and management.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in safety or a related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of project experience in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional.Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional and completion of the OSHA 500 Training Course.CHST designation with at least four years in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The role is based at a solar project in Elberton, VA, encompassing a new construction environment. Employees will work outside, adhering to a schedule of 5-6 shifts per week, totaling over 50 hours weekly. The day begins at 7 AM, with three scheduled breaks: morning, lunch, and afternoon. A safety talk is conducted each morning before work commences, and appropriate outdoor work clothing is required.

This is a Contract position based out of Elberon, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
