Job Title: Safety Systems Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Safety Systems Engineer with a passion for ensuring flight safety and airworthiness. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects that directly impact aviation safety in a fully remote setting. You will be part of a well-established engineering firm that specializes in safety-critical systems for the aviation industry.

Responsibilities

Perform system and aircraft-level safety assessments in accordance with ARP4761 / ARP4761A.Develop and maintain safety artifacts, including Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA / AFHA), Fault Tree Analyses (FTA), Common Cause Analyses (CCA / CMA), and System Safety Assessments (SSA).Support safety aspect derivation and allocation to system and subsystem requirements.Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and certification engineers to ensure safety objectives are correctly implemented.Provide safety analysis support for Part 23 aircraft and general aviation avionics systems.Participate in design reviews to evaluate safety impacts of architectural and functional changes.Support certification audits and data generation activities as required.

Essential Skills

Performing safety assessments under ARP4761 with at least 3 years of strong hands-on experience.Experience creating FTA, CMA, and SSA deliverables.Experience in aviation or aerospace systems safety engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience supporting Part 23 aircraft programs or general aviation platforms.Experience working with FAA or EASA certification projects.Prior exposure to avionics, flight controls, propulsion, or aircraft systems safety.Comfortable working in distributed, remote engineering teams.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position. You will be provided with a home setup to support your work. You will have the flexibility to work from anywhere, contributing to general aviation programs and making a deep technical contribution to system and aircraft safety.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
