Our location produces powdered and dehydrated meat and poultry products, for use in products such as seasonings, soups, and instant meals. **Responsibilities** POSITION SUMMARY: The Safety Supervisor supports plant management in maintaining a safe, compliant, and healthconscious work environment while ensuring full adherence to OSHA and company safety standards. This is a mid-level leadership position responsible for implementing safety programs, conducting audits, managing compliance reports, and training employees to reinforce safety as a core value. Additionally, the Safety Supervisor serves as a technical resource for SRMP element teams, guiding compliance initiatives, data analysis, and corrective actions. The position provides hands-on leadership in training and safety management, offering a pathway to senior safety roles such as Safety Manager or Regional Safety Manager within MFI. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manage, process, and maintain safety reports, inspections, and training records, ensuring documentation is aligned with company recordkeeping guidelines for use by the Safety Office and SRMP element teams. • Conduct safety audits and inspections, identifying unsafe work conditions and at-risk behaviors, and implementing corrective actions. • Facilitate safety training programs, ensuring employees receive OSHA compliance education, food safety training, and workplace risk prevention instruction. • Lead workplace incident investigations, ensuring proper documentation, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective follow-up. • Monitor and analyze safety-related trends, utilizing company-supported platforms such as Intelex and Alchemy to update compliance records. • Collaborate with workers’ compensation carriers and medical providers to ensure proper handling of workplace injuries and employee care. • Support Behavior-Based Safety Observation (BBSO) process, conducting observations, tracking safety behavior data, and driving improvement efforts. • Oversee SRMP compliance initiatives, acting as the technical lead for Element 1 (Leadership & Development). • Ensure contractor compliance with workplace safety standards during capital improvement projects. • Provide structured disciplinary support, ensuring safety violations are addressed consistently and appropriately. • Coordinate and facilitate safety committee meetings, engaging with leadership to drive compliance and improvement initiatives. • Schedule and oversee industrial health monitoring, including medical evaluations and exposure level testing. • Engage in company-wide strategy teams, supporting broader safety compliance objectives. • Foster collaboration to engage and support employees at all levels, to recognize safety as a priority. • Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. • Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality. • Perform other duties as assigned, including working flexible shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed. **Qualifications** EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. • Minimum 3+ years of experience in workplace safety management. • Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety compliance regulations, including OSHA standards. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and present safety concepts effectively by utilizing multiple communication channels to effectively communicate across location. • Strong organizational skills, ensuring efficient recordkeeping and compliance reporting. • Ability to analyze and interpret data from inspections, audits, and incident reports. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and safety management systems (Intelex, SAP/Oracle, Alchemy). • Experience with incident investigation and RCA methodologies. • Capability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Conflict Resolution & Influence – Ability to effectively manage and resolve safety-related concerns across all levels of the organization, from frontline employees to senior leadership. CERTIFICATIONS & ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS • OSHA certification preferred. • First Aid/CPR/AED certification highly desired. • Valid driver’s license required for occasional travel.
