Safety Specialist – Data Center

Job Summary
We are seeking a Safety Specialist to support safety planning, compliance, and risk management on a high‑tech data center construction project. This role focuses on ensuring safe work practices related to chemical handling, cleanroom construction, specialized equipment installation, and general construction activities. The Safety Specialist will conduct site inspections, lead incident investigations, support training initiatives, and help maintain a safe, compliant jobsite.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement site‑specific safety programs aligned with OSHA, FDA, and industry standardsConduct hazard and risk assessments for chemical handling, cleanroom construction, and equipment installationMonitor compliance with safety protocols, PPE requirements, and regulatory expectationsPerform routine audits of construction areas to identify unsafe practices or environmental risksLead root‑cause investigations for incidents, near‑misses, or safety violations and recommend corrective actionsCoordinate and deliver safety training, including hazardous materials, confined space, and emergency response topicsMaintain accurate documentation including permits, incident reports, safety audits, and compliance recordsCollaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to incorporate safety into all project phasesEssential Skills
Experience developing and implementing safety plansStrong hazard identification and risk assessment abilitiesKnowledge of OSHA, FDA, and relevant industry regulationsSkilled in site inspections, compliance monitoring, and corrective action planningAbility to conduct incident investigations and lead root‑cause analysisExperience creating and delivering safety trainingStrong documentation and record‑keeping skillsQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Safety or a related field0–2 years of safety experience in construction (internships accepted)OSHA 30 certification requiredExperience in pharmaceutical, cleanroom, or technical construction environments is a plusWork Environment
Fast‑paced data center project environmentFrequent jobsite walks, inspections, and interaction with field teamsRole supports a highly regulated and safety‑sensitive construction environmentJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.27 - $52.88/hr.
