Job Title: Safety Specialist

Job Description

As a Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and environmental compliance onsite during installation and maintenance activities. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to solve problems, conduct audits, and investigate incidents while providing service-oriented support to employees, customers, and contractors. The role involves developing and implementing safety programs and training.

Responsibilities

Develop, review, evaluate, and implement health and safety policies, programs, and procedures.Increase health and safety awareness at all organizational levels.Investigate all serious and critical personal injury and near-miss incidents.Assist with root cause analysis and solution identification for incident causal factors.Respond to and track employees' safety concerns to completion.Maintain records in compliance with regulatory requirements and prepare reports.Provide direction to contract safety personnel.Conduct worksite safety inspections and collaborate with employees and management to implement controls.Assist in developing and managing site safety plans.Coordinate and conduct on-site customer-specific safety training.Conduct weekly safety audits and report findings.Arrange for workplace safety evaluations by external agencies as needed.Liaise with customer personnel and contracted personnel regarding safety procedures.Develop and deliver assigned safety training programs.Coordinate training in safety areas such as first aid, accident prevention, and workplace inspections.Liaise with customers regarding emergency procedures and safety education programs.Analyze work processes, perform risk assessments, and implement controls.Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies as required.

Essential Skills

2+ years of EHS experience in a professional environment (manufacturing or construction).Experience in creating safety plans (SOPs).Experience in at least 2 professional safety audits.General knowledge of accident investigation and root cause analysis.Familiarity with OSHA regulatory requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

BCSP certification (CHST, OHST, ASP, GSP) preferred.Strong communication skills.Experience working with contractors and construction safety.Ability to deliver and document training professionally.Organizational abilities to manage multiple projects.Strong writing skills for process documentation and report preparation.Ability to work collaboratively as a team member.Ability to exercise independent judgment and take initiative.

Work Environment

This role is onsite with semiconductor construction on the North side of Phoenix and will involve work in clean room environments. The position operates Monday through Friday during the day shift. The dress code includes casual attire with provided PPE such as long pants, long sleeve shirts, hard hats, and safety glasses. The role requires up to 90% travel, primarily domestic with potential international travel. A clean driving record is essential. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $49.00/hr.
