Job Title: Safety Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and firm Safety Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing safety programs, advising on safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires a proactive individual who is not afraid to address safety issues and enforce safety standards on the production floor.
Responsibilities
Participate in the development and implementation of safety programs.Advise production teams on safety protocols and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.Perform hazard analyses and recommend mitigation procedures to plant operations.Conduct routine and follow-up inspections for environmental, health, safety, and hazards.Respond to emergency situations involving hazardous materials, fire, and smoke incidents.Analyze accident and incident reports for trends and recommend corrective actions.Support production supervisors with safety-related reports and ensure timely submission.Address safety issues assertively and ensure compliance with safety standards.Facilitate the proper rotation of assembly stations to maintain safety and efficiency.Essential Skills
Proficiency in performing safety inspections ensuring compliance with OSHA and NFPA standards.Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical personnel.Skill in data gathering, information compilation, and report preparation.Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, protocols, and procedures.Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.Strong capability in developing and enforcing safety procedures and protocols.Ability to investigate and analyze information to draw accurate conclusions.Effectiveness in working with diverse populations.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related discipline.0-2 years of experience directly related to the duties specified.Ability to work night shifts, Monday-Friday 7PM-4AM, with occasional Saturday nights.Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Athens, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $31.00/hr.
