Safety & Security Lead

The purpose of the Safety and Security Lead is to ensure the protection of people, assets, information, and operations from physical threats, hazards, and risks while maintaining regulatory compliance. This role will support key outcomes in both Security and Occupational Safety.  This role is approximately 50% Security and 50% Occupational Safety.

Job Description

Security Functions

Serve as Site Security Officer (SSO)Oversee Contract Security function and supervisionProtect physical assets, facilities, and personnelManage access control systems and surveillanceConduct security risk assessmentsImplement cybersecurity awareness programsCoordinate with law enforcement when neededOversee visitor management protocolsRespond to security incidentsManage crisis and business continuity planningDevelop and implement security written programs and associated trainingCollaborate with Regional Security Lead and legal supportManage Security cost centerRepresent Site at Louisiana Chemical Association (LCA)Design and facilitate periodic Security drills

Safety Functions

Support Occupational Safety Group in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulationsDevelop and implement Occupational Safety programsConduct risk assessments and hazard analysesInvestigate incidents and near-missesDeliver safety training and awareness programsMonitor workplace conditions and compliance with company and regulatory requirementsTrack safety KPIs and metrics

QualificationsBachelor of Science in Safety, Security or related discipline or equivilent experience3-5 years of experience in Safety and Security compliance within the chemical/petrochemical manufacturing facilities or refining preferredLeadership experience for large facility of 800+ employees is desirableProfessional Certification in Security or Safety is desirable
