**Job Title: Safety and Environmental Program Manager**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Safety and Environmental Program Manager to oversee the overall safety, workers' compensation, and environmental programs. The role involves establishing programs and goals to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal agencies, aiming to eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses to reduce costs, legal liability, and avoid possible prosecution.
**Responsibilities**
+ Stay informed of corporate and governmental regulatory agencies' safety and environmental standards by attending training sessions and seminars.
+ Develop and administer safety and environmental policies and procedures.
+ Perform safety and environmental audits, inspections, and accident/incident investigations.
+ Submit recommendations to management to correct deficiencies, eliminate hazards, and improve overall safety programs.
+ Create, administer, and conduct safety training programs by planning and scheduling sessions.
+ Review safety statistics, accident reports, and audit results through team meetings with employees and management.
+ Encourage employee participation in safety programs through communication, observation, and committee work.
+ Recognize employees for exceptional safety efforts and present safety awards.
+ Interpret federal, state, and local government regulations to ensure compliance.
+ Coordinate with regulatory agencies to negotiate terms of compliance and complete applicable permits and reports.
+ Prepare, review, and submit reports regarding Workers’ Compensation Program Administration.
+ Oversee the management of all claims in conjunction with a third-party administrator.
+ Perform other job duties as assigned by the supervisor.
**Essential Skills**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or a related field.
+ 1 – 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Thorough knowledge of safety principles and related government regulations.
+ Experience in a safety-related job in a manufacturing environment.
+ Effective communication skills with people at all levels of the organization.
+ Ability to teach and train others.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with OSHA regulations.
+ Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local regulations.

**Work Environment**
The work environment includes a general office setting with constant computer use and daily interaction with production personnel, managers, and staff. Occasionally, you will work in a fabrication facility where you may be exposed to welding fumes, paint fumes, and loud noise. The role requires occasional travel to local or regional vendor locations. Physical demands include standing continuously, occasional walking and sitting, and performing a wide range of physical activities such as pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying heavy objects. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Normal color vision is required.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.08/hr.
