Job Description
The Safety Foreman plays a pivotal role in ensuring workplace safety across various construction sites. This position involves conducting job site visits multiple times a week, coordinating with the Safety Director to determine travel locations, and working with third parties on testing and sampling requirements. The role is essential in training employees on safety guidelines, investigating accidents, and addressing safety violations.
ResponsibilitiesConduct job site visits 3-4 days per week.Travel up to 70% of the working week, with locations determined in coordination with the Safety Director.Coordinate testing, sampling, and other necessities with third parties based on job conditions.Aid in training employees on workplace safety guidelines.Coordinate accident investigations and reporting.Investigate and correct specific safety violations on job sites.Conduct and document employee safety observations, inspections of Company property and construction sites, and periodic Company vehicle safety inspections.Work directly with Project Managers and Field Personnel to address safety concerns.Ensure adequate PPE levels for project/site locations.Determine necessary PPE and training for workers as needed.Develop and conduct site-specific toolbox talks and daily safety plans.Drive and promote a culture of zero incidents through Health, Safety, and Environment practices.Understand claims management and workers’ compensation reporting.Essential Skills3+ years in construction projects with Health & Safety experience.Good understanding of health & safety, and OSHA regulations.Ability to obtain OSHA 500 certification.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.3+ years of experience in the safety field is a plus.Bachelor’s degree in safety preferred, equivalent experience considered.Professional safety certifications such as GSP, CHST, CSP are a plus.Ability to maintain a balance between teamwork and compliance with safety issues.Why Work Here?
