Safety Engineer
Safety Engineer / Safety SpecialistAbout the Role

Actalent is seeking to hire a proactive and knowledgeable Safety Engineer / Safety Specialist to support ongoing construction projects in the field. This role works directly with trade craft, subcontractors, and project teams, reporting to the Safety Manager. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a behavioral‑based safety mindset and hands-on experience in construction or industrial environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and administer the company’s Accident Prevention Plans, safety policies, and procedures.Provide technical safety expertise and support to project teams and branch leadership.Promote safe work practices and reinforce compliance with safety regulations and company standards.Assist in investigating work-related injuries, illnesses, and near-miss incidents; ensure corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.Review accident and incident reports for accuracy and completeness.Serve as a liaison between the company and the client regarding site safety matters.Identify, assess, and mitigate routine and non-routine workplace hazards.Coach and counsel workers to ensure adherence to safety expectations.Provide safety-related resources and guidance to crews in the field.Conduct regular jobsite inspections and audits to evaluate safety compliance.Support the establishment of branch and project-specific safety goals.Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).Assist in developing continuous improvement strategies for overall site safety.Required Skills & CompetenciesConstruction safetyOSHA standards and complianceSemiconductor or industrial construction experience (preferred)Safety training & field coachingIncident investigationStrong communication & collaboration across all levels (craft workers, management, clients)Top SkillsSafetyConstructionSemiconductor experienceOSHA complianceOSHA 30Behavioral-based safetyQualifications2–4 years of experience in safety or EHS roles (construction environment preferred).OSHA 500 preferred (OSHA 510 or other relevant certifications accepted).Associate degree preferred (EHS, Construction Management, Safety, or related field).Proven ability to collaborate effectively and communicate with diverse audiences.Demonstrated experience applying behavioral-based safety principles in the field.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boise, ID.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
