Job Title: Safety Coordinator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Coordinator to join our industrial steel fabrication team. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by conducting regular shop floor walkthroughs, reviewing safety practices, and leading safety discussions. The ideal candidate will be passionate about workplace safety and capable of engaging with team members across all levels.

ResponsibilitiesConduct daily walkthroughs of the fabrication shop to identify and mitigate safety hazards.Monitor compliance with OSHA standards and internal safety protocols.Lead and document weekly and monthly 'Toolbox Talks' to promote safety awareness and education.Collaborate with supervisors and team leads to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.Support incident investigations and root cause analysis.Recommend improvements to safety policies and procedures.Participate in safety audits and regulatory inspections.Essential SkillsOSHA 30 certification (General Industry or Construction).Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing safety role.Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety best practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently on a swing shift schedule.Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsIndustrial Shop ExperienceExperience in construction safety, safety management, and health & safety procedures.Work Environment

The work takes place in a 180,000 sq ft single steel fabrication facility. The swing shift schedule is Monday to Thursday, 4x10s, from 4:30pm to 2:30am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, Oregon

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
