POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Safety Supervisor, the Safety Aide is responsible for opening up the facility for dosing in the mornings and monitoring clients movement, safety, behavior and also assisting clinical and medical team with various aspects of client activities as needed.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Responsible for providing coverage for all outpatient facilities, monitoring client safety and movement to ensure that clients adhere to program rules and regulations. Responsible for opening up the facility in the morning and locking up in the afternoon Monitor dosing line in the methadone clinic and assist clinical team in client movement to and from appointments when needed Responsible for monitoring client traffic inside the facility Patrolling inside and outside of the facility for any illegal or potentially harmful activity Perform breathalyzer on clients when requested by the medical or clinical team Monitors all client behavior as needed, de-escalating potentially violent situations, resolving conflicts and forwarding pertinent information to the supervisor Responsible for maintaining client confidentiality in accordance with State, Federal and HIPPA regulations and JBRC Policy and Procedures. Attends and participates in all required meetings and trainings Responsible for responding to JBRC emergencies and making appropriate referrals Responsible for being punctual and reporting for work when scheduled to include meal break reliefs and other schedules as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned by Safety and Security Supervisor and other management as required. Removing the dosing and dosing nurse’s trash from the clinic. Ability to maintain professional and ethical boundaries and be a team player. Capable of lifting approximately 10 to 20 lbs. Walking, the ability to move around on foot to accomplish task Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to communicate both orally and written Must be able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner Must have active listening skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  High School diploma or equivalent.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
- Valid New Jersey Driver's license preferred

EXPERIENCE:

- Basic Computer knowledge & writing skills
- Knowledge in procedures necessary to oversee the safety of clients, visitors and staff in all JBRC outpatient facilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires repetitive motion, hearing, pushing, reaching, and reading, seeing, speaking, standing and walking a majority of the time.  Spends time with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, copier, and telephone.

This position reports to department leadership.
