Job Description
As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, operating, and repairing refrigeration and related equipment. Your work will ensure the preservation of food, making ice, cooling water, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems function optimally. Additionally, you will calibrate, repair, and maintain pneumatic control systems and clean and maintain grills, ducts, and shaft ways in A/C, ventilating, and exhaust systems.
ResponsibilitiesPerform installations, inspections, tests, operations, and repairs on refrigeration and related equipment.Calibrate and maintain all pneumatic control systems.Clean and maintain grills, ducts, and shaft ways in A/C, ventilating, and exhaust systems.Complete preventative maintenance as scheduled and keep accurate records.Collaborate with the maintenance team to resolve campus-wide issues.Essential SkillsProficiency in HVAC equipment handling.Electrical troubleshooting expertise.Mechanical repair skills.Experience in preventive maintenance.S2 License is required.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with gas boilers is preferred.Ability to work on rooftop units.Experience with small kitchen appliances, service, blueprint reading, and installation.OSHS 10 certification would be beneficial but not mandatory.Experience within an educational system is preferred.Ability to work autonomously is required.Why Work Here

Work Environment
The work environment consists of a crew of approximately 15 individuals across various trades. Interaction and collaboration are expected, but the role is primarily independent. The position operates Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Hartford, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
