Job Description
This position requires calculating and processing royalty payments based on sales data and contractual terms, preparing and distributing royalty statements to authors and agents, and reconciling royalty accounts to resolve discrepancies. You will also maintain accurate records of contracts, rights, and royalty obligations while ensuring the integrity of royalty data in accounting and royalty systems. Collaboration with editorial, legal, and sales teams is essential to gather necessary data.
ResponsibilitiesCalculate and process royalty payments based on sales data and contractual terms.Prepare and distribute royalty statements to authors and agents.Reconcile royalty accounts and resolve discrepancies.Maintain accurate records of contracts, rights, and royalty obligations.Ensure integrity of royalty data in accounting and royalty systems.Collaborate with editorial, legal, and sales teams to gather necessary data.Generate regular and ad hoc reports on royalty expenses and trends.Analyze royalty costs and provide insights to support financial planning.Assist in audits and respond to royalty-related inquiries.Support implementation and optimization of royalty accounting software.Identify and recommend process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.Essential SkillsExperience in royalty accounting.Knowledge of sub rights and contract management.Proficiency in accounting principles.Familiarity with Biblio ERP is preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the publishing or music/entertainment industry.Royalty management experience.Open to candidates with contract or legal experience.Work Environment
This role offers a 100% remote work environment with a preference for candidates located in EST, as you need to work EST hours. It provides the opportunity to work for a global publishing company, engage in multiple projects and implementations, and support the CFO directly on special assignments.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
