The Tier 1 Robotics Technician Supervisor requirements may vary according to client-determined assignments, but the basic job requirement is the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automation systems deployed at various G2 client data centers. The Tier 1 robotics technician supervisor is expected to be a generalist, with multi-disciplinary skills and knowledge including electrical and mechanical equipment assessment.
Job Duties:
• Comply with CBRE and Client quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
• Direct Technicians I and II in conducting Operational Readiness Site Walks to verify that the NavSystem (floor taping and geotags) is in good repair. Verify work is performed and documented.
• Verification that appropriate inspections are occurring at each site and are sufficiently documented. Develop work methods to identify and replace worn, damaged, or non-functional equipment.
• Assist Tier 1 first responders during triage of robotics and automation operational issues, adding to the Tier 2 “playbook” documentation as new issues are identified and solved.
• Monitor SLOs and ensure that teams are responding in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Manage PTO and coverage logistics for direct reports
• Assist (as needed) with Preventative and Predictive maintenance and calibrations of existing equipment of the systems per well-defined schedules and procedures in place at the time the contract is initiated. Verify appropriate documentation.
• Assist with planning and execution of deployments, retrofit efforts, and creation/distribution of informational documents and procedures to the Tier 1 team.
• Provide higher level mechanical and control system technical support and troubleshooting for existing automated equipment.
• Act as the site SME (subject-matter expert) on all automation equipment.
• Direct setup and SAT of new equipment
• Update System Delivery Tracker
• Facilitate moving materials and equipment for automation
• Consistently review issues and issue resolution within the Client’s system (Buganizer, EAM)
• Lead in continuous improvement efforts, corrective action formulation, and root-cause investigations.
• Attend meetings as requested by Manager. The Supervisor will be the direct interface with Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams on behalf of CBRE.
• Input metrics and analysis to monthly and quarterly CBRE dashboards and placemats.
• Complete training requirements as communicated by CBRE and Manager.
• Maintain certifications required to perform maintenance and sustainability efforts as directed by Manager, and monitor completion by Technicians I and II
• Complete CBRE/Manager-assigned administrative tasks in an expeditious and conscientious manner - review/approve timesheets, PTO requests, expenses, etc.
• Mentor other Technicians
• Act as site liaison with operational groups, DCOps, EHS, and Site Manager. Communicate immediately with CBRE Manager when operational or scope questions arise.
Knowledge/Skillset Expectations
• Training or experience in an industrial, fulfillment center, or data center maintenance position (10+ years) OR an Associate or Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) PLUS 8 years in the above maintenance fields.
• Experience with direct reports. One-on-ones, coaching, mentoring, corrective action, evaluating, and developing year-end reviews.
• Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
• Proficient use of specialized tools, DMM, CMMS, and software-based tools.
• Ability to understand and communicate technical information.
• Expertise with networking, PLCs and HMIs, drives, motors, controllers, power supplies, cameras and vision systems, servos and encoders
• Expertise with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, drive assemblies, electrical troubleshooting, conveyors, pick-and-place, and articulated arm devices
