**Job Title: Highway Maintenance Technician** Job Description We are seeking a dependable Highway Maintenance Technician to support a highway in the East End of Richmond with maintenance and repair activities on and around active roadways. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in roadway or general maintenance and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. Responsibilities + Respond to roadway incidents and assist with traffic control using cones, barrels, and crash cushions. + Perform daily tasks such as trash pickup, landscaping, and groundskeeping. + Conduct minor repairs to roadways, guardrails, and office facilities. + Operate power tools and equipment, including chainsaws, plows, and mowers. + Participate in snow removal operations using company trucks and plows. + Rotate on-call duties with paid overtime for each on-call day. + Follow all safety protocols and conduct risk assessments. + Collaborate with experienced roadway maintenance professionals. Essential Skills + Experience in roadway maintenance or similar field work. + Knowledge of traffic control and construction safety procedures. + Proficiency in using hand and power tools. + Ability to drive and operate maintenance vehicles. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Familiarity with VDOT or similar field work. + Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. + Willingness to work overtime as needed. Why Work Here?
