RN Stroke Program Coordinator
Overview

Location: Javon Bea Hospital

Shift: Monday to Friday Day Shift Hours

Hours: 40 hours per week

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN requiredMSN or enrolled in a MSN program preferredCurrent IL RN licensure by the IL Dept of Professional Regulation (IDFPR)Must have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible hospital nursing experience.Demonstrated success with Project Management.Experience with interpretation and display of data

The RN Program Coordinator, in collaboration with the System CNO:Uses exceptional communication, organizational and interpersonal skills to serve as the project manager for coordination of programsOversees and coordinates the application process for programsCollaborates with the Nursing Practice Council and Nursing Leadership to ensure the coordination, and facilitation for an action plan that brings this vision to realitySupports departments in various Performance Improvement activities while working closely with the Department of QualityIdentifies opportunities and solutions that may foster change and lead to the advancement of program initiativesDevelops and mentors the role of program Champions in all departments in the system where nurses practiceDevelops and mentors the Nursing Practice Council Chairs across the system and oversees the development of a Shared Governance Model in all entitiesDevelops a communication plan which keeps nurses across the system informed and linked togetherDevelops a plan to educate all partnersHas familiarity with components of a programs environment and champions strategies across the system, both internal to nursing and with ancillary and support service departments..Ensure direct care nurses understanding and use of quality data to drive improvement by coordinating with team members: to identify educational opportunities for clinical nursing staff, to build a team of quality resource nurses among direct care staff.Identify and assist in leading strategies to improve outcomes that fall at or below benchmark.Serve as a consultant and resource expert for performance improvement activities designed to improve the quality of patient care and to ensure annual unit PI projects are meaningful and measurable.Ensure unit quality data boards provide meaningful and up to date information.Assist with TJC preparation for constant survey readiness.Assess and optimize data collection strategies to ensure reliability and accuracy.Expand data collected and reported to Press Ganey (NDNQI).Strong problem solving abilities in complex situations.Ability to work within the budget and productivity targets to meet organizational objectives.Visible nursing representative with outstanding relationship building skills.Supports process improvement in operations, quality, and organizational change.Able to communicate effectively and persuasively with individuals and groups through compassion, creativity, and consistent visibility.Participates in hospital and department committees.Leads by example, consistently demonstrating highly professional behavior. Demonstrates personal and professional accountability.Demonstrates decisiveness and an ability to gain consensus where appropriate.Performs other duties as assigned
