Your sense of urgency and dedication to excellence in a fast-paced environment will not only support patient recovery but also fuel your own career advancement. + Maintains current knowledge of all patient safety standards and National Patient Safety goals and consistently incorporates into nursing practice. + Able to safely administer medications and blood/blood products using the 7 (seven) rights of medication and blood administration. Uses 2 (two) separate hospital approved identifiers to safely identify the patient prior to medication / blood administration. + Maintain a safe, therapeutic work environment at all times and identifies and addresses problems to the appropriate departments. + Adheres to principles of infection control, including medical and surgical asepsis and isolation techniques. Demonstrates aseptic technique while conducting sterile dressing changes, urinary categorizations, and other similar duties. + Receive, interpret and implement physician orders in a safe and timely manner. Uses hospital approved process for telephone and / or verbal orders that include a readback of all orders. + Perform patient assessment/reassessment, including giving or receiving comprehensive change of shift and intermittent report, obtaining the nursing history, conducting a physical assessment, establishing priorities for care. **Job Requirements** Minimum: + Resident Nurse Program student, upon hire or + Registered Nurse with a minimum of 6 months experience within the last year + Registered Nurse: CA + Basic Life Support - CPR + Advanced Cardiac Life Support + Neonatal Resuscitation Program **Where You'll Work** Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy Hospitals have a history of caring for our community that goes back more than 100 years.
