Job Summary:\rThe Special Workforce and Tactics (SWAT) RN Employee Health Nurse is a travel RN position that is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients/employees receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. This role practices in various clinical environments throughout the Wellstar enterprise that functions under the direction of a Clinical Manager of Employee Health and other leaders, and is supported through the WellStar Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is steered by Occupational Health Nursing Standards, WellStar 5-Star Nursing and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the WellStar Core Competencies. The SWAT RN position requires travel to all Wellstar Health Systems hospitals, health parks, and medical clinics within a designated region.\rIt is expected that all SWAT RN Employee Health Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association. As a member of the employee health team it is expected that the individual upholds the voice of the patient/employee, system policies and procedures.\rKey responsibilities of the role include provision of the following services: Occupational health screenings for new and current employees, participation in wellness programs, immunization programs, tracking, managing and reporting occupational exposures, and providing education on maintaining a safe work environment. Responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of Employee Health policies and procedures. Job may require travel to work at other sites when needed.\rThis role has a direct impact to the organization through promoting the health and safety of employees. Services provided aid in identification, control, reduction and elimination of communicable diseases in the workforce.\rCore Responsibilities and Essential Functions:\rTeamwork and Collaboration\rCoordinates the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient /employee care that promotes the professional care delivery model. This includes but is not limited to diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods, completion of timely documentation and promotion of a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.\rDemonstrates teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a manner that is fiscally responsible and promotes the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.\rParticipates and supports performance improvement inclusive of all stakeholders, research and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient/employee care including initiating and/or leading such activities as well as promoting an inter/intra-disciplinary process and actively supports/participates in shared governance at all levels in the system.\rProfessional Development and Initiative\rCompletes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education,population specific education.\rServes as a preceptor and/or or mentor for other professional nurses (and staff or students for all disciplines) to ensure that there is a current and future qualified workforce, modeling the professional practice of nursing and creating a healthy work environment.\rEvidence Based Practice and Research\rPromotes Evidence based practice, nursing research and performance improvement in nursing. Participates in activities such as value analysis as part of the decision-making process in evaluating patient care products.\rUpholds all health care system/organizational policies and procedures and clinical competencies put forth by this job description and professional associations including legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements and standards ensuring by way of example, such goals as TJC Patient Safety Goals, OSHA, CDC recommendations, ADA guidelines, State of Georgia and Federal regulations and WellStar Health Systems safety absolutes.\rParticipates in data collection, poses relevant clinical questions to advanced evidence-based practice.\rConsults appropriate experts and uses appropriate resources and evidence to address practice questions.\rResources and Support\rProactively plans for the care of patients/employees across the care continuum in the course of providing care.\rParticipates in the development of protocols, policies, and procedures in collaboration with other members of the health care team to achieve best practice outcomes.\rSupports efficient and effective use of human and material resources.\rPerforms other duties as assigned\rComplies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.\rRequired Minimum Education:Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelors Nursing-Preferred\r\rRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):\rAll certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state CompactBLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor\rAdditional License(s) and Certification(s):\rRequired Minimum Experience:\rMinimum 2 years experience in nursing field Required or\rPrevious experience in an occupational health environment or similar experience desired.\rPreferred\rRequired Minimum Skills:\rComputer/data entry experience.\rAbility to communicate with various members of the healthcare team.\rAbility to read, write and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills.\rStrong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills required.\rAbility to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner.\rAbility to adapt to knowledge and practice requirements by state and federal regulations related to occupational health.
