Position Summary: Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Nurse Clinical Coordinator of Education and Development is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating staff education, development, and regulatory compliance for SCI/Stroke staff members/ BI/Peds staff members.

Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the department based orientation and unit specific onboarding of all new employees on the unit, including competency assessment, competency checklists, ongoing check in/touch points. Tracks and updates certifications (BLS, license, CRRN, etc.) required for staff. Evaluates the clinical competencies of staff and identify ongoing education needs for unit and staff. Educates, coaches and mentors bedside staff. Provides direct expert clinical practice Meditech Superuser. Provides staff education for all mandatory and on-demand training including Meditech updates. Completes quality and safety audits as directed by the nurse manager. Collaborates with nursing leadership to create performance improvement plans. Completes staff audits required for annual performance evaluations as directed by the nurse manager. Participates in annual performance reviews in coordination with NM/ANM as needed. In collaboration with Quality or Hospital leadership, maintains regulatory and accreditation documentation requirements at the unit level (TJC, CARF, Magnet). Elevates any performance or employee relation staff issues to NM/ANM for resolution. Functions as a liaison with Clinical Nurse Educator to promote professional/education programs and services. Monitors and updates staff education offerings. Recommends direction and program focus. Serves as a change agent to facilitate use of Evidence Based Practice to improve outcome based performance. Other duties as assigned.Job Qualifications:
BSN and a minimum five years of clinical experience in Acute Care or Inpatient Rehabilitation required. CRRN or CNE certification and MSN preferred, CNS preferred. Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, passion, compassion, and the ability to establish positive rapport with staff and customers.
