Risk Management- Wholesale Credit Risk Associate- Merchant Services Product

As a Wholesale Credit Risk Associate within the Merchant Services Product Team, you will be at the center of keeping JPMorgan Chase strong and resilient. You will help the firm grow its business responsibly by anticipating new and emerging risks and using your expert judgment to solve real-world challenges. Job Responsibilities:

Work closely with team leads and senior staff to support the evaluation of new business credit requests. While you will have opportunities to exercise independent judgment, you will escalate complex issues and final recommendations to more senior team membersManage new business credit requests for the merchant services product across all lines of business, including business banking, commercial banking and investment banking clients, across shared lending relationships and merchant only requests. Conduct due diligence and credit analysis to assess prospect creditworthiness and make recommendations to the appropriate decision makers. Coordinate with the credit coverage officer as applicable for shared banking relationships to advise on product specific risks and make recommendations. Act as the primary point of contact for the business on new business requests you manage, including interfacing with merchant services sales and bankers and escalating as needed. Participate in discussions and communication with colleagues and client contacts, building effective relationships internally and externally.Contribute to team development and foster holistic risk thinking, while focusing on your own learning and growth within the team

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or other business related discipline2 years’ experience in a comparable environment, in a Credit Risk, Financial Analysis or similar roleHigh level of intellectual curiosity and understanding of credit risk Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and effectively in a team environmentHistory of working with high volumes and making sound recommendations with a quick turnaroundStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish credibility and trust with clients and internal stakeholdersAbility to balance conflicting priorities, with various deals, projects and communications occurring simultaneouslyUnderstanding of key credit risk metrics and using those metrics to formulate recommendations and appropriately address risks, and mitigants to a proposed dealAbility to operate with a degree of independence, leading communication, stakeholder calls and communicating recommendations to team leads and senior leaders as necessaryStrong attention to detail with a history of working in a regulated environment

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Experience in payments or merchant services risk. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
