As an associate within the Structural Interest Rate Risk team, you will participate in risk-related matters, including risk analysis and review of the Mortgage Bank Mortgage Servicing Rights portfolio that is risk managed by CIO.
Job Responsibilities
• Participate in the assessment and control of market risk across the portfolio by monitoring existing positions versus established limits, understanding model inputs, and resulting risk sensitivities, and analyzing the impact of market movements on the portfolio using risk management tools such as Value at Risk (VaR) and Firmwide Stress scenario analysis.
• Understand products including Mortgage Servicing Rights, MBS, MBS Options, Interest Rate Swaps and Swaptions, Treasuries, Exchange Traded Futures and Options and related derivatives.
• Independently identify, elevate, and discuss concerns with managers and traders and can challenge market positions and views.
• Partner with the business on new initiatives to identify opportunities and areas of concern, working with Front Office, Middle Office, Finance, Valuation Control, Model Review and Development, VaR Methodology and Development, and Technology groups.
• Work with the risk coverage team globally, establishing guidelines, standards and best practices and play a role in the development and build-out of the risk management process and infrastructure supporting the MSR portfolio.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in risk management or related technology field
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Math, Science, or Technology
• Mortgage Products experience required.
• Strong quantitative and analytical background with an understanding of risk management techniques like VaR, Stress, and other non-statistical Market Risk measures
• Strong communication skills with ability to explain highly technical concepts in practical terms.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across different businesses and functional areas with thorough attention to detail in a potentially high-pressure environment.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Programming experience is desirable.
• knowledge of MSR is desirable.
