Risk Management - Asset Management Investment Risk - Alternatives - Associate

Our Asset Management Investment Risk - Alternatives team is dedicated to world-class risk management, maintaining strong controls, and proactively managing risks. The AM Risk team, led by the AM Chief Risk Officer, covers a broad spectrum of risks in global institutional businesses, including real estate within the Alternatives division.

As an Associate in the Asset Management Investment Risk - Alternatives team, you will measure, monitor, and independently assess risks in investment activities, providing credible challenge and escalating issues to senior management. You will collaborate with investment and risk teams to develop and maintain an understanding of risk profiles of funds and portfolios, innovate risk oversight processes, ensuring compliance with investment, liquidity, and counterparty risk policies, and conduct deep dives on emerging risk areas and their potential impact on the business.

Job Responsibilities

Measure, monitor, and independently assess risks in investment activities, providing credible challenge and escalating issues to senior management. Collaborate with investment and risk teams to develop and maintain an understanding of risk profiles of funds and portfolios. Innovate risk oversight processes, ensuring compliance with investment, liquidity, and counterparty risk policies. Conduct deep dives on emerging risk areas and their potential impact on the business.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in financial services related to trading, portfolio management, or risk management Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an inquisitive nature. Familiarity with modeling and working knowledge of portfolio valuations and risk systems. Strong quantitative skills; experience with Python, Alteryx, SQL, and Tableau. Excellent interpersonal skills to work seamlessly within a team and communicate across various departments.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities

Postgraduate degree or additional certifications such as CFA or CAIA. Prior experience with Commercial Real Estate investments a plus Buy-side and alternatives experience preferred.
