The Role

The Risk Analyst is responsible for providing administration, guidance, and oversight of various risk management led processes. The responsibilities include supporting the insurance procurement process, overseeing data collection, data analysis, keeping data current in the department’s Risk Management Information System, overseeing certificate of insurance compliance and issuance, invoice processing, policy review and general support of inquiries from various departments that seek risk management guidance.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Supporting all corporate insurance placements and renewals, including but not limited to collecting and gathering submission data for property/casualty renewals (updating COPE across all assets as needed), participating in underwriter meetings, filling out apps, coordinating payment of invoices, etc.  

Managing the placement and renewal of all insurance policies for exposures that involve third parties, including condo associations, JVs, landowners associations, etc. from initial policy placement to future budgeting/allocation phases

COI support: Providing support to construction, development, retail and procurement on appropriate insurance requirements for their respective trades/tenants, granting exceptions as necessary, reviewing COIs for compliance, enhancing standards as needed. Maintaining COI requests on the AVB side, requesting and issuing as requested.

Maintaining and updating Origami policy records, location records, as well as certain quarterly reporting  (policy register and location listing)

Reviewing contracts for redlines trades/vendors make to AVB insurance/indemnification requirements,  proposing alternative language as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Certification or Licensures:

None required.

Experience:

1-2 years of relevant work experience in an insurance, risk management, accounting, or legal setting or progressive experience in residential services management, construction management, or related industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong communication skills.

Problem solver with excellent judgement and discretion.

Ability to handle work-related stress.

Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Strong customer service, speaking and presentation abilities.

Team player, growth oriented with a proven track record of collaboration.

Proficient in use of Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel user with application of special features (e.g., Pivot Tables, Index/Match, VLOOKUP, macros).
