**Job Title: Rigger** **Job Description** The Rigger will be responsible for selecting and attaching hoisting and pulling gear to lift, move, and position heavy machinery, equipment, large structural parts, and other heavy objects. This role also involves fabricating, installing, and repairing standing and running rigging and wire cable, fiber, or synthetic rope articles. The Rigger will handle various objects aboard ships and in shops, utilizing cranes, chain falls, rope falls, gin poles, shear legs, skids, rollers, jacks, and par buckling. **Responsibilities** + Select and attach hoisting and pulling gear for lifting and moving heavy objects. + Fabricate, install, and repair standing and running rigging. + Handle equipment aboard ships and in shops using various tools. + Guide Rigger Helpers or other trades when assisting. + Ensure safe operations as Boat Coxswain and compliance with PPE and safety requirements. + Check in/out and properly mark all WHE equipment. + Travel up to 25% for company business as required. + Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures for environmental protection. + Assist in the receipt, mooring, and departure of vessels. + Work effectively with co-workers in a professional manner. + Available to work overtime if required. + Observe safety precautions and ensure compliance with safety standards. + Handle weights up to 100 pounds and carry up to 200 feet. + Climb vertical and inclined ladders and maneuver in close quarters. + Perform other tasks as assigned to support safe operation and contractual requirements. **Essential Skills** + Knowledge of NAVFAC P 307 requirements. + Adherence to safety requirements and practices. + Ability to guide Rigger Helpers and other trades. + Proficiency in the use of cranes, chain falls, and other equipment. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in ship repair, construction, and material handling. + Ability to operate a motor vehicle and electric chain falls. + High school level proficiency in reading and writing English. **Why Work Here?** Join a stable, woman-owned company with a long-standing history of maintaining inactive ships. Safety precautions are a top priority, and the position requires physical stamina and the ability to handle heavy objects. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philadelphia, PA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $26.98 - $32.00/hr.
