Join our Engineering Team in Auburn Hills as a Retrofit Installer, where you will play a crucial role in customizing vehicles for testing, repair, and further customization. As part of the retrofit team, you will be responsible for performing part updates and rework on both new and gently used vehicles. Your work will range from heavy to light repairs, ensuring quality and compliance with documentation and procedures.
ResponsibilitiesRead service procedures as outlined by OEM service engineers.Access and utilize OEM systems for software flashing, labor guides, and service procedures.Evaluate repairs and diagnose issues when repairing a vehicle.Possess a complete variety of automotive tools and some specialty tools.Inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles thoroughly.Perform test drives and functionality vehicle tests.Document additional issues found and inform the Team Leader/Manager promptly.Work independently, completing projects without intervention.Interact and communicate effectively and professionally with the client team.Consistently meet or beat labor time guidelines for various repairs.Work independently and off-site with minimal resources in diverse conditions.Maintain a clean work station and work environment.
Essential SkillsMechanic with expertise in diagnosis, repair, engine, and transmission.Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electronics.Valid driver's license.Experience with diagnostics tools.Experienced technician in engine, transmission, and electrical repairs/troubleshooting.Ability to lift 40 lbs.Reliable attendance and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Additional Skills & QualificationsState or ASE certifications in engine, transmission, or electrical are a plus.Enjoys working on personal vehicles during downtime.

Work Environment
Work in a spacious, clean environment with individual work stations equipped with all necessary tools. Although not temperature-controlled, the facility is comfortable with fans and vents to maintain a normal temperature. At the end of each shift, you will be expected to clean and organize your workstation. Openings are available on both the 1st shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm) and 3rd shift, with opportunities for overtime.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
