Job Description
Insight Global seeks a Retrofit Engineer to serve as the primary engineering point‑of‑contact for customers and cross‑functional teams, coordinating Controls, Mechanical, Electrical, Process, and Software to deliver retrofit projects. This role requires 75-85% travel, this candidate needs to be flexible to the demand! The role owns engineering deliverables from proposal through release—covering design control, documentation, technical guidance, scheduling, and cost control. Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s in engineering (or equivalent) and 5+ years in high‑tech capital equipment—ideally machine tools—with strong Siemens/FANUC CNC integration skills (servo/spindle/drive selection, AutoCAD electrical schematics, ladder logic and custom macros, parameter setup, power‑up/debug, and special machine functions). Proficiency in 3D parametric modeling, SAP, MS Project, and ISO standards, plus excellent communication and a solid grasp of mechanical/electrical/controls, enables safe, high‑quality, and profitable upgrades. Overall, this engineer will act the POC for this team and the customer. They will manage the deliverables for the proposal, development, and sold projects. And have responsibilities with design control, guidance, and release.

Skills and Requirements
· Bachelors of Science in Engineering or related degree/experience
· 5+ years of experience in high technology capital goods manufacturing environment, preferably machine tools
· CNC Coding experience (Siemens & Fanuc)
○ 5-axis knowledge and understanding
○ Ability to specify control components including servo motors, spindle motors, and drives associated with CNC integration
· Ability to design electrical schematics using AutoCAD
· Conflict Management/Customer Facing experience
Hands- on Installation and Electrical experience · Caterpillar Customer experience (projects coming from them soon)
