Includes the greeting of all guests, answering phone calls, assisting guests with questions regarding the retail items and products, charging for items purchased. The Gift Shop Attendant is responsible for closing the sale on retail products to guests. They are responsible for maintaining the retail area in a clean and orderly manner and should be knowledgeable of the features and benefits of all retail offerings and promotions. They must understand how to effectively recommend products to meet the needs of our guests. Duties and Responsibilities: Be on time for your shift. Properly open and close the gift shop each day according to Standard Operating Procedures. Accurately charge items. Acknowledge and greet everyone who enters and leaves the gift shop. Provide detailed descriptions of the retail items being sold. Utilize spa computers with skill and proficiency. Maintain a Gift Shop Desk Bank. Answer the phone promptly and use the guest’s name throughout the phone conversation. Actively promote and upsell the retail items on sale as well as promotions and/or discounts available. Maintain eye contact when addressing external and internal guests. Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously. Provide accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction. Maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked, and well-organized work and retail area. Develop ability to work without constant direct supervision and remain at assigned post for extended periods of time. Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment. Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa team. Be aware of any maintenance issues in the gift shop areas and report them to management. Creating, stocking, and maintaining retail displays. Position Requirements: Must be detail-oriented and have ability to multi-task. Ability to be efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment. Must have enthusiasm, a friendly and outgoing personality, positive attitude and possess excellent customer service skills. Must possess basic math and money handling skills. Excellent communication, listening and computer skills. Must enjoy working with people and be a team player. Must have the ability to remain calm and collected in stressful situations.
