Residential Driver
The Driver will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services to customers. The driver will collect solid waste or recyclables on curbside and/or backdoor routes and transporting to post-collection facilities.



 

Key Responsibilities 

Safely operate collection trucks and related equipment. 

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required reports. 

Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report mechanical issues promptly. 

Identify and handle prohibited or hazardous waste in accordance with company procedures. 

Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies. 

Maintain accurate service records and communicate effectively with supervisors. 

Support route optimization and assist with overtime as needed. 

Requirements 

Education: High school diploma or GED (preferred) 

License: Valid Class 3 driver’s license 

Experience: Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or completion of a recognized CDL training program 

Physical Ability: Must meet physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs and maneuvering in tight spaces 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

Ability to safely operate collection equipment and recognize disposal issues 

Strong communication and teamwork skills 

Working knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance procedures 

Ability to perform manual labor and operate in varying environments 

Physical and Mental Demands 

Regular walking, climbing, kneeling, and lifting 

Ability to maintain focus and awareness while driving in high-traffic areas 

Work effectively in a noisy, fast-paced setting 

Working Conditions 

Outdoor work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) 

Frequent exposure to noise, odors, and moving vehicles 

Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions with proper protective equipment provided
