As a Resident Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as the on-site expert for all mechanical systems within a hyperscale data centre project. You’ll oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness of HVAC, chilled water, fire suppression, and other critical mechanical infrastructure. About the Role:
Supervise Mechanical Installations
Oversee the on-site execution of HVAC, piping, and fire protection systems to ensure alignment with design specifications and timelines.
Review Technical Submittals and Drawings
Validate contractor documentation and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Coordinate Testing and Commissioning
Support and witness functional testing, performance verification, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
Ensure Safety and Compliance
Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and mechanical codes.
Resolve Site-Level Technical Issues
Act as the primary point of contact for mechanical-related queries, troubleshooting, and coordination with other disciplines.
About You:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in mission-critical or data centre environments.Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, fire suppression, and building automation.Familiarity with international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, ISO) and local codes.Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and commissioning toolsWhy join Cushman & Wakefield?
