This role will be onsite at a the Customer's Technology Campus.  Act as the technical resource / advisor / resident engineer that will provide onsite support for engineering design, operations, and planning to execute assignments in a multidisciplinary role for critical facilities operations. The ideal candidate will have past experience with mechanical, controls, and electrical power distribution systems for data centers. Previous experience with electrical equipment design to include Generators, UPS systems and electrical switchgear is a must. You must also possess Mechanical / HVAC experience as well. You will help support the critical infrastructure team as their technical resource. / subject matter expert.

Responsibilities:

Provide engineering support campus-wide for all utility systems and infrastructure:  steam, chilled water, compressed air, glycol, and electrical distributionSupport construction administration by reviewing RFI’s, change orders, submittals, and specificationsParticipate in equipment inspections, factory witness testing, and vendor QA/QC visitsAssist in coordinating site inspections Review contractor installations for compliance with design specifications and industry standardsProvide technical expertise on mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring alignment with the Owner’s requirementsDevelop and implement modernization plans for existing infrastructure to enhance efficiency, resiliency, and reliabilityEvaluate, manage, and track equipment nearing (EOL) end-of-life and prepare technical specifications for replacementsSupport and coordinate central utility plant capital projects with the project management teamOversee projects, assist with design plans / reviews, provide and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary electrical engineering design role for medium to large sized data center facility design projectsConduct vendor evaluations, and construction oversight to ensure compliance with specifications and standardsSupport Data Center Operations with any design upgrades at the siteMonitor system performance and recommend operational or technical improvementsWork with Management to create / respond to RFPsWrite comprehensive reports when needed which include the following sections: recommendations for optimizing building operations, functional checklists, list of deficiencies, equipment operation and maintenance manualsProvide engineering expertise for troubleshooting, failure analysis, and corrective action developmentReview design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to engineering design and commissioningUnderstand functional tests for various systems, such as: electrical distribution systems, UPS, standby generators, etc.Interface with clients, contractors, equipment vendors and owners agents as needed;Maintain and organize all engineering drawings Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements / OSHA, etc

 

Qualifications:

3 to 7+ years of experience in data center MEP design or commissioningBachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred but relevant experience also consideredEIT or PE license is a plus but not requiredStrong understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, Compressors, cooling towers,  Generators, UPS, Switchgear, Electrical Power Distribution , Utilities )Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM for design reviews / minor tweaks is a plusProficient in construction administration and document managementExperience preparing specifications, evaluating equipment, and supporting capital project implementationStrong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze field conditions and recommend solutionsExcellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with Owners, contractors, and engineering teams (this role requires heavy amount of writing, documentation, and client interaction)Self Starter, self motivated, and should prioritize wellPrevious experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus! Experience with Electrical / Mechanical: Navy nukes - EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.
