In the role of Resident Project Representative I, we'll count on you to:
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documentsMaintain accurate daily records of the contractor's daily activities and the work performed, and of the labor, equipment and materials usedReview construction materials for Contract complianceTrack quantities and develop pay estimates for acceptanceAttend and/or chair construction progress meetingsConduct observations of the installation and acceptance testing of completed equipment and systemsIdentify nonconforming work, develop project punchlists and maintain until correctedDevelop record documentation for engineer review/acceptanceAssist with project audit/closeoutWork under general supervision of a more-senior Resident Project Representative or Design Project ManagerSupervise and direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services and subconsultantsAssist in developing and growing our CM/CEI in New MexicoAssist in developing a list of viable marketing opportunities and clients development plansAssist with identifying and pursuing CM/CEI opportunities locally and regionallyParticipate in strategic planningDevelop client relationships to support the growth within the marketBased on current projects and identified CM/CEI opportunities, develop a hiring and training plan to meet project staffing needsTake responsibility for coordination, monitoring and improvement of staff technical competencies to meet client needsParticipate in delivery of project services to meet client expectationsProvide oversight and management of construction projects for DOT’s, Municipals Agencies, and utilitiesEnsure proper documentation is collected to satisfy client’s documentation requirementsVerify that construction material quality processes are being followedProvide direction and support to construction inspectorsReview contractor invoices and provide recommendations for pavement to client

Write and issue field orders, initiate change proposals for design team review and approval, estimate cost of changes, negotiate costs with contractors, and recommend acceptance to the Project Manager

Perform other duties as needed

Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering5 years related or equivalent experience including project management experience preferably with NMDOT / ADOT or other municipalitiesNM PE license (AZ if located in Arizona)Demonstrated leadership skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustExperience with preparing proposals and contracts for public agencies is preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office.Strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to mentor and manage staffExperience working as part of a team to successfully deliver construction projects, processes and documents.Commitment to quality improvement and HDR values.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Ability to interpret construction schedulesMust have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience Demonstrated construction experience on multidisciplinary projects Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents Must be able to work in a team environment Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
