Research Technologist

Research Technologist will be working in an infectious diseases medical research lab.

Responsibilities

Conduct both standard and advanced laboratory experiments.Track laboratory inventory and coordinate ordering to ensure adequate supply levels are maintained.Prepare culture media and maintain cell lines using a variety of cell culture techniques.Attend meetings with the principal investigator and research team to review, evaluate, and interpret data as needed.Manage day‑to‑day laboratory operations in the supervisor’s or principal investigator’s absence.Support the design, development, and execution of research protocols.Maintain precise documentation and compile clear summaries of experimental findings.Assist with data analysis, validation, and quality control of experimental assays.Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on specialized research equipment.Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

•\tBS Degree in Sciences (Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, etc)

•\tMust have strong attention to detail and good Visual Acuity. They will be measuring bacterial culture density using microscopy.  

•\tMust be willing and able to work with laboratory animals, Mice, and comfortable with euthanizing and disposing of them after the study. This is done in a controlled environment and is an accredited research lab. 

•\tSomeone will need to be extremely reliable and be able to work independently without micromanagement.  

Work Environment

Schedule is Monday through Friday 6am-2:30pm, might be asked to work 8am-4:30pm.

This role is a year long contract due to the length of the research. Individual must be willing to commit to one year to keep the research and work consistent. Great for someone looking to get experience working in medical research and develop their career!

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wauwatosa, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
