**Job Description** **The department of Neurological Surgery is seeking a Research/Engineer 1 to join their team.** **Job Duties** 10% - Plasma deposition (and upkeep of plasma reactors) of fluoropolymers and reactive precursors on to intravascular stents and test systems. 20% - Analysis of the chemistry of the coatings and stability of the coating by ESCA and SIMS. 30% - Treatment of stents with carboxybetaine (synthesis, UV crosslinking and chemical immobilization) 30% - Preliminary blood compatibility assessment of treated stents including I-125 protein studies. 5% - General lab upkeep and maintenance. 5% - Reporting to the research team and authoring/publication of research papers. **Minimum Qualifications** Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering with one year of experience in I-125 radioactive research technology and RF-plasma deposition for the analysis and manufacturing of vascular stent coatings.
