Job Description:

Execute established laboratory workflows from planning through data analysis.Recognize, document, and escalate protocol deviations to appropriate stakeholders.Ensure laboratory equipment and instruments remain in good operating condition; recognize malfunctions and troubleshoot as needed.Maintain an up-to-date understanding and working knowledge of methods performed in the laboratory.Provide feedback on workflows and participate in developing solutions to address pinch points, throughput limitations, and data quality issues.Collaborate with a team of researchers to extend and interpret advanced analytical methodologies.Facilitate interactions with both internal and external collaborators to develop efficiencies for cutting-edge analytical methods.Adapt to unexpected schedule changes and respond to emergency situations as needed.20% meetings, 80% research

MUST HAVES:

Hands-on expertise with cutting-edge molecular biology, flow cytometry, display technology, microbiology, and/or biochemistry methods and concepts.2–4 years of directly related commercial experience.Bachelors degree (e.g., Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or Microbiology)Familiarity with data analysis tools and methodologies commonly used in modern laboratory environments.Demonstrated ability to work successfully in an entrepreneurial environment.Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and record-keeping.Strong verbal and written communication skills (essay development skills)Knowledge of safety procedures related to the operation of laboratory equipment and handling of chemical and biological hazards.

NICE TO HAVES:

PhD in the life sciences (e.g., Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or Microbiology)Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams at the interface of life science and computer science.Broad familiarity with multiple areas of the life sciences.Hands-on experience in high-throughput research, including operation of liquid handling systems.Tissue culture experienceJob Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $43.00/hr.
