Execute day-to-day research experiments aimed at understanding the mechanism of action of novel drug compounds targeting the neuroendocrine melanocortin receptor system, including evaluation of peptide and small-molecule agonists/antagonists as potential therapies for inflammation, obesity, and autoimmune diseases. Perform a wide range of laboratory techniques, develop and validate methods, and analyze experimental data to contribute to ongoing research efforts.
ResponsibilitiesIndependently perform laboratory techniques such as cell culture, transfections, in vitro cell-based assays, ELISA, functional activity assays, Western blotting, microscopic imaging, chromogenic and fluorogenic assays.Develop, optimize, and validate new and existing methods to address research questions.Analyze, interpret, and document experimental data; prepare formal reports, presentations, and protocols for internal and external stakeholders.Maintain accurate and compliant laboratory records, adhering to all safety and regulatory protocols to ensure data integrity.Apply strong problem-solving skills with careful attention to experimental detail and data quality.Collaborate effectively with other scientists while maintaining the ability to work independently to advance research efforts.Communicate experimental findings and provide scientific insights to support project reviews and decision-making processes.Essential SkillsM.S with 4-5 years of experience in relevant fields.Expertise in cell culture, PCR, ELISA assay development, protein analysis, and SDS-PAGE.Proficiency in developing and executing in vitro cell-based assays.Ability to independently perform sterile cell culture techniques.Strong computer skills, including proficiency with GraphPad Prism and Microsoft Office Suite.Additional Skills & QualificationsBA, MS, or PhD with 2-7 years of industry experience in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.Experienced in basic molecular biology and protein biochemistry methods.Learn the biology, development, and cell biology concepts.Work EnvironmentBrand new biologic lab with state-of-the-art facilities.
