HD Biosciences, Inc. (San Diego), a WuXi AppTec Company, is expanding its Target Discovery team. We’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate II to support our team for cell line generation, and cell-based assays for various projects.

Responsibilities Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnel.Performs support functions in cell line generation and cell-based assaysAbility to work in a team environment and independently as requiredMay be required to work Holidays and weekendsMay be required to work OvertimeContributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goalsPerform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing PracticesOther duties as assignedMay be required to assist in other departments Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Ability to perform routine work following SOPs with minimum supervisionDeep understanding of molecular biology and cell biology and proved hand-on experience in mammalian cell cultureGood communication skills to work with different equipment vendors and technical support teamAbility to learn quickly to master the operation and general maintenance of major instrumentsDetail-oriented, good at multitasking and ability to work with multiple teams

Education / Experience:      

 

Master’s degree in Molecular and Cell Biology or BS in Biology or related field2+ years of experience Demonstrated strong understanding of complex scientific procedures with technical proficiency in molecular and cell biologyOutstanding written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills to seamlessly fit within a teamwork driven environment.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Proficient in Oral & Written communication skillsNeed to be able to read, write and understand EnglishProficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Physical Requirements:               

Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions.Must be able to work in Lab setting with exposure to Animals/biohazards / ChemicalsMust be able to wear appropriate PPEMust be able to work in environment with variable noise levelsAbility to stand /Sit/walk for long periods of timeAbility to Lift 10 lbs routinelyAbility to crouch, bend, twist, and reachAbility to push/pull 10 lbs routinely/ often / occasionallyClarity of VisionAbility to identify and distinguish colorsMust be able to perform activities with repetitive motionsAbility to climb Ladders / Stairs / ScaffoldingAbility to work in variable temperatures high to freezingInside/outside working conditions
