Reporting/Data Analyst (Insurance Industry)
Job Title: Senior Analyst

Job Description

The Senior Regulatory Reporting Analyst will support and maintain data reporting needs for the Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance department. This position involves managing the creation and submission of data reports in accordance with regulatory mandates. The ideal candidate will develop accurate and innovative data trending techniques and communicate them effectively to internal colleagues and other impacted departments. Building strong relationships is essential for coordinating within the department and with external vendors on bureau reporting, ISO reports, data calls, and related projects.

Responsibilities

Interface with IT, Actuarial, Underwriting, Finance, and Customer Service, along with outside vendors to extract, analyze, and report data to insurance departments and Workers’ Compensation rating bureaus.Lead effective data collection efforts by representing analysis data users for new products, systems, and data process updates.Manage the research and creation of unit statistical reports on a monthly basis for the Workers' Compensation book of business.Maintain accurate documentation for compliance examiners to audit and inform management of any limitations or potential events.Validate entered data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, and reentering as necessary.Oversee the aggregation of data that is not systematically aggregated.Assist with data reporting trends and escalate anomalies to the Director of the Regulatory Reporting Unit.Act as the point of contact for MGA’s reporting Final/Revised Audits.Participate in corporate data initiatives and stay updated on technological resources and tools, including third-party data vendors.Facilitate weekly conference calls to discuss data filings and address errors in reporting.Manage Workers’ Comp criticism response processes.Analyze causes of fines or penalties for late and non-compliant reporting issues.Maintain a central repository of data calls and surcharge reports, by due date, jurisdiction, frequency, and method of submission.Maintain a central repository of fines and penalties related to the Regulatory Reporting Unit and process check requests as needed.Handle ad hoc data calls, financial/surcharge assessments, and general statistical surveys from State Insurance Departments.Collaborate with IT, Customer Service, and other departments to improve or automate data reporting processes.Complete other related projects as assigned.

Essential Skills

Experience in insurance data analysis and/or regulatory reporting experience.Broad-based global insurance industry experience.Subject matter expertise with the ability to work independently.Extensive experience with large data sets and data model design.Strong process, systems, and analytical skills with high attention to detail.Strong execution and results orientation with the ability to develop a high-performance organization.Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work across interdisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.Bachelor’s Degree desired.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to identify issues and work to resolve them in partnership with business leaders.

Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work environment with mandatory in-office presence on Wednesdays and two additional days of your choosing. Working hours are from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility to start earlier or later if needed. This is a temporary assignment with the opportunity to transition to a permanent position.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
