Repair Test Technician

**Job Description**
As a Repair Test Technician, you will troubleshoot and process equipment returned by customers for repair or exchange. Using sound judgment, you will work under general supervision on routine tasks and follow detailed instructions on new assignments. You will troubleshoot to the component level to determine equipment failure, compare findings with customer complaints, and prepare repair estimates, obtaining customer approvals when necessary. You will perform rework modifications, updates, and realignments to restore equipment to working order, document corrective actions, ensure equipment functions according to specifications, and inspect finished products for conformance to industry and workmanship standards.
**Responsibilities**
+ Troubleshoot equipment to the component level to determine failure.
+ Compare findings with customer complaints and prepare repair estimates.
+ Obtain customer approvals for repair estimates as needed.
+ Perform rework modifications, updates, and realignments to restore equipment.
+ Document corrective actions taken and ensure equipment functions according to specifications.
+ Inspect finished products to verify conformance to standards.
+ Document failure codes and repair information on company systems.
+ Identify problems with products and procedures and report them to the RD Lead or Supervisor.
+ Address service/reliability issues that arise.
+ Initiate Engineering Action Requests (EAR) to initiate corrections.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in testing software and use of oscilloscope and continuity tests.
+ Ability to perform soldering on surface mount components.
+ Experience with testing programs and use of AGILE, MES.
+ Ability to troubleshoot to the component level.
+ Proficient in schematic reading.
+ Ability to read and interpret manufacturing instructions.
+ Skilled in using common hand tools.
+ Capability to operate required test equipment.
+ Ability to exercise good judgment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Computer savvy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
+ Preferred: Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Technical School or Certificate, or equivalent combination of education/experience including understanding of basic electronics theory.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
