In this role, you will perform mechanical, electrical, and structural repairs on FAA‑approved temperature‑controlled containers used throughout the aviation and pharmaceutical logistics industries. This is a hands‑on position ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy troubleshooting, precision work, and contributing to aviation safety and reliability. **Key Responsibilities** **Repair & Technical Work** + Perform assembly, testing, and repair of temperature‑controlled air cargo containers. + Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to restore units to operational condition. + Conduct structural repairs, including patching, drilling, de‑riveting, and riveting. + Inspect units for damage, wear, and compliance with repair standards. **Material Handling & Facility Support** + Assist with warehouse organization and movement of containers and repair materials. + Prepare units for repair, testing, and return to service. + Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. **Essential Skills** + Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability. + Experience using hand and power tools. + Background in assembly, repair, or mechanical maintenance. + Basic electrical knowledge. + Ability to follow repair procedures and safety protocols. **Preferred Qualifications** + **1–2 years** of experience in aviation, sheet metal, HVAC, or related mechanical fields. + Prior exposure to aviation environments or interest in aviation. + Experience working in a **Part 145 repair station** is a plus. + Military aviation or avionics experience is highly valued. **Work Environment** + Repair facility located in **Des Plaines, IL** , supporting operations near O’Hare International Airport. + Hands‑on, technical environment focused on quality, safety, and precision. + Work involves standing, lifting, and performing manual repairs throughout the shift. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Plaines, IL. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
