Remote Permitting Specialist
Job Title: Remote Permitting Specialist Job Description The Permitting Specialist will play a critical role in assisting carriers with obtaining and maintaining the necessary federal, state, and specialty permits required for operation. The ideal candidate will provide guidance and possess prior knowledge around these regulations, including DPT, IRP, license plates, tax filings, and plate renewals. Responsibilities + Assist carriers with obtaining DOT numbers, MC authority, and related registrations. + Complete and submit BOC-3 filings. + Set up and manage IRP (International Registration Plan) accounts, including renewals and changes. + Set up and manage International Fuel Tax Agreement accounts, including quarterly filings. + Research, apply for, and maintain specialty permits as required for carrier operations. + Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all permits, filings, and accounts. + Communicate with state and federal agencies to resolve application or compliance issues. + Track deadlines and ensure timely submission of renewals and filings. + Provide carriers with updates, guidance, and regulatory information related to permitting. + Support the permitting department with other related administrative and compliance tasks as needed. Essential Skills + Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation industry standards. + At least 2 years of experience in DOT or transportation-related roles. + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. + Ability to work with multiple carriers and regulatory agencies. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
